Grooming your Cairn can be a challenge. However, proper tools will make the task of grooming much easier. Below are the grooming staples we recommend for every household with a Cairn. Check out our favorite tool is the Mars Coat King.

The perfect tool to strip a terrier. Unlike small strippers, the Mars Coat King strips large areas FAST!!! It works quickly and easily removing loose hair, especially thick under-coats. Use it like a rake/brush. Most dogs don’t mind it. It's great for de-matting and leaves the coat full and healthy. The curved, sharpened blades have rounded ends for safety. Nice wooden handle for easy gripping. Use in combination with the Anvil thinning shears for an easy to achieve well-groomed look.

Generic Stripping Knife Set

	This stripping set comes with a fine tooth (red) and a coarse tooth (blue) knife. Used together the set works well to remove dead hair. The blades are stainless steel and are anti-static Teflon coated. Each has a non-slip vinyl handle. Sold only as a set.

Classic 7 inch Anvil Thinning Shears

These shears are designed specially for cutting dog hair and are used in combination with the Mars Coat King to give your Cairn a well-groomed look. Use to trim the side face furnishing, the hair that is in front of the ears, the chest, underbelly and leg areas. Unlike regular scissors they are safe to use on a dog that will not stay still while being groomed. They are designed for efficient and smooth thinning and feature Ice-Tempered Stainless Steel cutting blades and chrome-plated metallic handles to reduce weight while retaining balance. The 30 teeth is for general thinning while the 46 teeth is user for finer thinning and blending.

Double Row Flea Comb

	This double row flea comb is ideal for removing fleas from your pet's coat and catches more fleas than single row styles. Its overall length is 6-1/4", 2-1/4" of teeth, which are 7/16" long.

Nail Trimmer and Styptic Powder Set

	This nail cutter is a must have for keeping your terrier’s nails short. It is a guillotine style sharp blade that cuts your Cairn’s nails FAST. It has a sturdy metal body with red plastic coated handles that gives you a great grip. It comes with styptic powder just in case your active Cairn wiggles during the trim. Sold only as a set.
